When this piece is present in your home, office, or any personal space, it will help clear the negative energy that can flow through life. This painting carries with it a frequency that will ground you in a profound way. It will also help support you to set and maintain clear boundaries in any areas of your world that need this assistance.
My intention for this painting is to embody the spirit of being broken open, exposed, and made vulnerable by fierce love. Goddess Pele is digging into the heart and soul of the earth to release and transmute old ways of being and thinking that no longer serve us. She is allowing and encouraging the lava to flow which will create the earth that will provide a new path for us to walk. Her gesture is saying “let the past burn so that we may rise into an empowered present and future”.
Living in Hawaii, on the island of Maui, inspires me to work with the powerful and transformative energy of Goddess Pele. It is said that when Pele arrived in Hawaii, she first used her Pa’oa, or o’o stick on Kauai to strike deep into the earth. She dug “fire pits,” on Oahu including the crater we now call Diamond Head. After that, she left her mark on the island of Molokai before traveling to Maui and creating the Haleakala Volcano.

This painting is an exploration of what Mana feels like to me. Mana is magic made real. The presence of the spirit world and our life force expressed as one. There is strength and clarity in the figure's direct gaze. I want the viewer to feel the pulse of her energy and spirit. I used base layers of magenta and cyan to create a buzz for your eyes. This piece carries a cleansing and empowering influence to the space you choose to display her in.
